G.S. Wilcox secures $6M loan for Wawa in Springfield

G.S. Wilcox & Co. has secured $6 million in financing for a new Wawa in Springfield, the Morristown-based commercial real estate mortgage banking firm said on Wednesday.

The new Wawa Gas and Convenience Store opened on June 18 at 685 Morris Turnpike. It will have more than 5,500 square feet of store space, plus gas pumps and electric charing stations. It’s the chain’s 900th site.

Financing was arranged through Mutual of Omaha with a 20-year term and 25-year amortization. G.S. Wilcox secured the loan on behalf of a Florida-based real estate developer.

“The Springfield community has eagerly anticipated the opening of this Wawa because of the reliable fuel and food options they provide for visitors on the go.  G.S. Wilcox & Co. is pleased to secure this competitive financing on behalf of our client,” Bridget Wilcox, vice president, said.
