The New Jersey Innovation Institute and ViRvii Inc. announced on Thursday they have entered into joint venture agreement to bring virtual reality environments to all levels of academic and professional workforce development.
Under the agreement, ViRvii, a Beverly Hills, California-based proprietary virtual reality and augmented reality technology and platform provider, will create a virtual reality experience for people to interact, learn and play. Together with NJII, they will establish new online educational tools using cross reality modalities that are a combination of VR/AR, machine learning, and advanced camera and computing technologies.
“As part of our strategy of becoming a leader in the next generation of online education, we plan to bring the ViRvii platform to medical and biopharma training institutions, law enforcement agencies, universities, and more” Dan Kaminski, senior vice president and general manager of the Data & Technology Division at NJII, said.
NJII, which is a corporation of the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, will provide management, curriculum development, marketing, sales, event hosting and support services to ViRvii’s platform.
“We are excited to partner with NJII to integrate immersive and interactive virtual reality content into the educational environment to promote greater learning across the world,” Juan Dueñas, co-founder and CEO of ViRvii, said.
