The Zimmerli Art Museum, a New Brunswick-based museum tied to Rutgers University, announced on Thursday that Donna Gustafson has been named interim director.
Gustafson, who took over the role June 26, also continues to serve as the museum’s curator of American art and Mellon Director for academic programs. In recent years, she has collaborated with staff and students on exhibitions, research projects and public events, and was a 2019-2020 fellow at the Institute for Research on Women, part of the school’s Arts and Sciences program.
Previously, Gustafson served as chief curator at the American Federation of Arts and director of exhibitions at the Hunterdon Art Museum.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Zimmerli Art Museum is closed to the public and all programs has been suspended until further notice.
