416 new COVID-19 cases in N.J., 11 more deaths

Although much of New Jersey — including the Governor’s Office — was concerned with the effects of Tropical Storm Isaias on Tuesday, Gov. Phil Murphy’s administration continued to report the daily toll COVID-19 is taking on the state.

The latest numbers include 416 new cases, bringing the state’s total during the pandemic to 182,970 coronavirus cases.

There were 11 more deaths reported, bringing the total number of confirmed fatalities to 13,982. There are 1,875 presumed deaths, as well.

The important rate of transmission figure fell to 1.41 new cases resulting from each case, down from Monday’s reported 1.48 figure, but still up sharply from recent marks below the vital 1.0 line.

Murphy’s next COVID-19 briefing is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
