Holy Name Medical Center has named a former Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp. executive as its new chief human resources officer, it announced this week.
The Teaneck-based medical center said in a news release that Caryn Parlavecchio will take on the new role after nearly 20 years with the pharma company, most recently as vice president and global HR head for the Oncology and Pharma Development units.
“Caryn is a passionate, strategic leader who will further cultivate Holy Name’s reputation as a ‘Best Place to Work’ and our exceptional track record in recruiting top talent,” CEO and President Mike Maron said in a prepared statement. “Her strong background in workplace cultural and organizational transformation will be critical to our future growth, especially given the complicated and rapidly changing health care industry and world.”
Before joining Novartis, Parlavecchio worked in human resources and communications roles at Honeywell International and Ingersoll-Rand.
“I am excited to partner with the executive team to deliver on a new HR strategy focused on talent, culture and operational excellence, and promise to listen, learn and contribute to delivering on the medical center’s mission,” she said in a statement. “I am also looking forward to learning about the front lines of health care and leveraging my pharma experience to build on Holy Name’s legacy of being a trusted, reliable resource to the patients and communities we serve.”
The Short Hills resident has bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Seton Hall University.
