NJ Transit announced on Wednesday its crews, which have been working throughout the night, have been making progress on clearing up storm damage after Hurricane Isaias.
Currently, they are working on more than 250 downed trees to allow for additional rail lines to open as well as repair signal systems and overhead wires that power the trains.
While the Northeast Corridor, the Raritan Valley, Main/Bergen County and Pascack Valley lines will resume service at 10:00 a.m. on a weekend schedule, the North Jersey Coast Line, Morris & Essex, Montclair-Boonton Line, Gladstone Branch and the Port Jervis Line (between Port Jervis and Suffern) remain suspended. Once repairs are complete, all lines will resume service on a weekend schedule.
The Atlantic City rail is the only line running at the moment on a regular weekday schedule.
Bus, light rail and Access Link are also operating regularly, with tickets and passes being cross-honored with the PATH at Newark, Hoboken and 33rd Street. Buses are also accepting tickets.
More than 953,000 homes and businesses are without power in New Jersey as of 6:30 a.m., according to NJ.com.
