Summit Medical Group expands presence in Bergen County with opening of SMG Orthopedics

Summit Medical Group continued the expansion of its multispecialty presence in Bergen County with the opening of SMG Orthopedics, a freestanding orthopedics office in Paramus.

Orthopedic surgeons Andrew Beharrie and Chris Inzerillo and orthopedic spine surgeon Howard Yeon will lead the office.

Dr. Jack Cappitelli, SMG’s regional medical director for Bergen/Passaic, said the group is quickly growing its presence in the area.

“Our major foray into Bergen County started with the acquisition of New Jersey Associates in Medicine (NJAIM) to bring Summit Medical Group’s highly coordinated multispecialty care model to more residents in northern New Jersey,” he said. “With our latest Orthopedic offices in Paramus, we are advancing our commitment to provide improved care for individuals, lowered costs of care, and improved care quality.”

Summit CityMD has 12 SMG locations in Bergen and Passaic counties, including Clifton, Fair Lawn, Closter, Paramus, Ridgewood, Rutherford and Teaneck as well as five CityMD urgent care centers in Bergen/Passaic, and one co-located Summit Orthopedics and CityMD site in Wayne.

Dr. Matthew Garberina, chairman of the department of orthopedic surgery, said the office will be centered on providing easier access to personalized orthopedic treatment for sports injuries and spine-related conditions from board-certified surgeons who specialize in minimally invasive procedures.

“Summit Medical Group’s Orthopedics department is the largest in New Jersey with doctors from the most prestigious residency and fellowship programs,” he said. “With the additions of Dr. Howard Yeon, an accomplished orthopedic spine surgeon, and Drs. Andrew Beharrie and Chris Inzerillo, two highly skilled orthopedic surgeons, Summit Medical Group remains unmatched in its ability to provide patients with the very best in orthopedic care.”
