SobelCo, a Livingston-based accounting and advisory firm, announced on Monday that Carolyn J. D’Anna has been named the firm’s first chief operating officer.
“Unprecedented times often result in unprecedented opportunities,” Alan Sobel, managing partner, said. “Our firm has flourished for more than six decades since we were founded in 1956 in Newark, New Jersey. We have enjoyed consistent organic growth over the years and combined with several significant mergers, we have steadily expanded our service offerings and presence in the community. As a result, we have emerged as one of the key leaders in the tristate area and in the profession.
SobelCo said its leadership team agreed unanimously that D’Anna’s was the perfect choice for their first COO. Prior to SobelCo, she spent her entire career at JH Cohn (the predecessor of CohnReznick), advancing to an accounting and audit partner and eventually to chief human resources officer.
“While serving in the role of chief human resource officer at CohnReznick, my responsibilities included working closely with other key executives in finance, technology, operations and strategy. As such, I had the opportunity to assume an influential role in the exponential growth of a major regional firm — and it is that experience that I will draw on extensively in order to add value to SobelCo clients and colleagues as the firm continues on its own exciting growth trajectory,” D’Anna said.
SobelCo has other offices in Woodcliff Lake and Paoli, Pennsylvania.
