Ocean Power Technologies Inc., a ocean energy solutions provider based in Monroe Township, announced on Tuesday it has opened an office in Houston to serve as its regional sales and business development hub.
The new office, which will support business opportunities in the Gulf of Mexico, the U.S. and South America, will be headed by OPT’s Philipp Stratmann, vice president global business development, and David Marchetti, senior director of sales.
“Houston is the home of many global oil and gas operations and related offshore industries, and is a hub of energy innovation, human capital, and investment,” George H. Kirby, CEO and president of OPT, said. “As we expand our products and solutions, it’s essential that our business development team is based close to this important core customer segment, and our project execution team is able to work closely with customers.”
