Moorestown Ecumenical Neighborhood Development Inc. announced on Tuesday it has named Eileen Wirth its new CEO and president.
Wirth, a veteran in affordable housing management and finance, will be the first woman to serve in this role in MEND’s more than 50 year history. Wirth will succeed Matthew Rielly, who announced his retirement earlier this year after serving at the helm since 2001.
Wirth will be tasked with continuing the Moorestown-based nonprofits mission of providing safe and affordable rental homes to seniors, people with disabilities and families with low to moderate incomes. She will also maintain MEND’s South Jersey partnership’s and be in charge of an 18-person staff.

Her industry knowledge and property management expertise will be a strong asset as we continue to grow and expand our reach, especially in response to the economic impact of COVID-19 on New Jersey.”
Wirth, who has more than 32 years of experience in affordable housing, most recently served as CEO and president of Octavia Hill Association. She began her career at the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency. From there, she held more senior-level roles including senior director of housing for Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey; assistant director of affordable housing for Presby’s Inspired Life; and executive property manager for Community Realty Management.
