A Pennsylvania-based disability services company has acquired an Eatontown-based provider of support coordination services, it announced Tuesday.
The Columbus Organization, which provides support services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, agreed to acquire the assets of Advocates in Action, which provides similar services in New Jersey.
“I am very happy to reach an agreement with Columbus to assume the care of the employees and individuals within Advocates’ support coordination program,” founder and CEO Joy England said in a prepared statement. “Columbus is not only mission-aligned with Advocates in Action, Columbus brings profound capabilities and a reputation of stellar advocacy and overall work with all individuals served.”
The Columbus Organization, based in Wayne, Pennsylvania, said in its news release that the addiction will expand its strong consumer focus, providing “superior and innovative” support for the Garden State population.
“We are delighted to welcome Advocate’s support coordination individuals and talented coordinators into the Columbus Organization,” Tanya Wyant, Columbus’ executive director of care coordination in New Jersey, said in a statement. “Advocates build a loyal and strong following as a self-approving provider of support coordination in New Jersey. We are confident that their addition to our team will add further to Columbus’ growing capability and reputation in the state.”
