Bed Bath names leader for ongoing transformation process

Bed Bath & Beyond Inc., continuing its comprehensive transformation program, has named a chief strategy and transformation officer to oversee the ongoing process, it announced Monday.

Anu Gupta, a former executive with JYVE Corp., Target Corp. and other brands, will officially join the Union-based retailer next Monday. She will report to John Hartmann, the chief operating officer of Bed Bath and president of its buybuy Baby unit.

“As we continue to transform our company into a truly omnichannel retailer, we need dynamic, unconventional and expert leaders like Anu to lead change across the organization,” Hartmann said in a prepared statement. “Anu’s industry experience, strategic leadership and operational expertise will help us execute our vision while we create a strong, durable business model for the future.”

Gupta was chief operating officer of JYVE, and previously senior vice president, strategy execution and operational excellence at Target, among other leadership roles.

“Bed Bath & Beyond is an iconic retailer and taking purposeful steps to transform into an omni-always organization,” she said in a statement. “At a time when home has become everything, I look forward to accelerating change across the company, deepening customer engagement and driving growth and profitability for the business.”
