Amazon has announced its latest New Jersey delivery station, located in Bayonne, it announced.
The 180,000-square-foot facility, at 105 Ave. A, will open later in the year and help speed deliveries for customers in Hudson County, the e-commerce giant said in a news release.
“We are excited to continue to invest in New Jersey, with a new delivery station that will provide efficient delivery for customers and create hundreds of job opportunities for the talented workforce,” Amazon spokesperson Emily Hawkins said in a prepared statement.
The stations serve as waypoints between Amazon’s mammoth fulfillment centers and delivery drivers, employing hundreds of workers at wages above $15 an hour.
Amazon has opened several stations in the state already this year, and is on pace to become the state’s largest private-sector employer.
