Ros joins Pashman Stein to chair its expanded health care practice

Lana Ros has joined Pashman Stein Walder Hayden as a partner and will serve as chair of the firm’s health care practice.

Pashman Stein Managing Partner Michael S. Stein said the expansion of the firm’s health care practice group is another sign of its strategic growth in services.

“Lana’s experience, together with our strong bench of attorneys in related practice areas, positions Pashman Stein to provide comprehensive legal services for our diverse health care clients,” he said in a statement.

Ros, who will be based in the firm’s Hackensack office, focuses her practice on civil and administrative litigation, including professional licensure defense; hospital medical staff and disciplinary actions; drafting and analyzing bylaws; fraud and abuse investigations; investigations and refund demands by private insurance companies; Medicare and Medicaid; and regulatory compliance counseling including HIPAA/HITECH, Anti-Kickback Statute and Stark Law, according to the firm.

In addition, Ros handles transactional and regulatory matters affecting health care providers and has successfully defended providers in diverse practice areas before state licensing agencies as well as federal agencies.

The firm said Ros also will assist clients in the highly regulated industries of medical cannabis and cannabis-derived products, such as cannabidiol.  She assists cannabis entrepreneurs and health care professionals with navigating the complex developing laws, including those related to authorization of medical cannabis, permitting and licensing, distribution, production, research, testing and general business operations.

Ros, who previously worked at Norris McLaughlin in Bridgewater, said she hopes to she can add to the firm’s history of health care work.

Ros currently serves as general counsel to numerous medical societies in New Jersey and lectures frequently on critical legal issues affecting health care professionals.

Among her numerous professional affiliations, Ros serves as vice president of the New Jersey State Bar Association Health Law Section and as a trustee of the Somerset County Bar Association. Her other memberships include the District XA Ethics Committee for East Morris and Sussex Counties, Morris County Bar Association, Morris County Chambers of Commerce, Women Business Group and Health Care Steering Committee for CIANJ, New Jersey State Bar Association, Women in the Profession Section, and New Jersey State Bar Association, Cannabis Law Special Section.

Prior received her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and B.S. from Rutgers University, and is fluent in Russian.
