New Jersey American Water invests in Fair Haven infrastructure

New Jersey American Water announced on Wednesday it will spend $280,000 to replace about 900 feet of aging water main in Fair Haven.

Starting next week, the water utility said it will upgrade old 6-inch water lines with new 8-inch ductile iron main along Gillespie Avenue from River Road to the dead end. The project will also replace one fire hydrant and 26 utility-owned service lines.

Work will begin on or about Oct. 14 and is expected to be completed by the end of November.
