JLL announced on Friday it has completed two new transactions totaling 95,000 square feet at a Class A office building in Secaucus.
The 11-story property, located at 500 Plaza Drive, is a 461,000-square-foot office building managed by Manulife Investment Management’s real estate group.
Commercial real estate owner Hartz Mountain Industries signed a 54,000-square-foot office lease and will occupy the entire sixth floor at 500 Plaza. The company will be relocating to the building from nearby 400 Plaza Drive.
Insurance giant AXA Equitable Life Insurance Co. renewed its 41,000-square-foot lease and will continue to occupy the entire seventh floor.
Manulife was represented in both deals by JLL’s David Stifelman, managing director, and Timothy Greiner, executive managing director and head of New Jersey brokerage. Hartz Mountain was represented by CBRE Group Inc.’s Geoffrey Schubert, senior vice president. AXA was represented by JLL’s Matthew Astrachan, vice chairman.
“500 Plaza Drive is an institutionally-owned office building located in the Meadowlands submarket,” Stifelman. “This is a headquarters-quality property that has attracted world-class tenants like Hartz Mountain Industries and AXA Equitable Life Insurance.”
The property boasts ample amenities, including a parking garage, lobby and common area, a cafeteria, conference center, fitness center and rooftop patio. It is located within Harmon Meadow, a 200-acre, 4 million-square-foot mixed-use development with 1 million square feet of retail space, 25 restaurants, eight hotels, leisure and sports facilities, and a 14-screen cinema.
Harmon Meadow is situated within close access to the New Jersey Turnpike and Route 3.
