Mack-Cali hires pair of SVPs, partners with CBRE to reposition Harborside campus

Mack-Cali Realty Corp. announced Monday that it has brought on board a new team focused on repositioning, leasing and marketing its Harborside office campus on the Jersey City waterfront.

The Jersey City-based real estate investment trust said in a news release that it has hired two executives to oversee leasing and renovations, respectively, at the 4.3 million-square-foot campus, which includes six properties encompassing office space, retail space, dining options, residential units and more.

In addition, the REIT said it has chosen a team from CBRE to assist in the leasing efforts at the campus.

Mack-Cali said:

  • Edward J. Guiltinan has been hired as senior vice president, leasing. He bring 30 years of commercial real estate leasing experience to the post, including the past 20 with the Rockefeller Group.
  • Robert Willis has been named SVP, construction, and will oversee completion of key renovation projects at Harborside. He has more than 25 years of experience managing multimillion-dollar capital projects, most recently leading design and construction for HEI Hotels and Resorts.
  • A leasing agency team has been chosen, led by CBRE’s Mark Ravesloot and including Mary Ann Tighe — who will consult on the overall project and provide strategic oversight — as well as Peter Turchin, Jeffrey Babikian, Robert Norton and Brett Shannon.

“Both Ed and Rob bring unmatched experience and knowledge in their respective areas of work, which puts us in the beset position to complete the transformation of Harborside and help attract tenants and win business as companies return to the office with a new list of requirements and considerations,” Mack-Cali Chair and interim CEO MaryAnne Gilmartin said in a prepared statement. “Companies today are demanding more control of every aspect of the work ecosystem, and Harborside is one of the only true campus destinations that provides that comfort and is accessible from around the region.”

The marketing strategy, featuring Mack-Cali in partnership with CBRE, will focus on highlighting the complex’s competitive advantages, including a robust broker relations campaign.

“From modern glass towers to renovated historic buildings filled with character, tenants have an array of options at Harborside, all sharing access to world-class amenities,” Tighe, CBRE’s CEO, New York Tri-State Region, said in a statement. “We look forward to unlocking the full potential of this high-caliber campus, which offers everything major tenants and employees require in one location.”
