Jackson Hewitt plans hiring blitz ahead of tax season; estimates 22K positions available

They say there are two certainties in life: death and taxes. But the third might be: Tax services hiring for spring.

Jersey City-based Jackson Hewitt Tax Service certainly lives up to that, announcing it expects to hire 22,000 workers to support its tax preparation work for the 2020-21 tax season.

The company said its franchisees, which operate nearly 6,000 locations nationwide, will participate in a pair of National Hiring Weeks, during the weeks of Oct. 26 and Nov. 16. Positions include temporary and seasonal work in tax prep, client support and more.

“At Jackson Hewitt, we work hard for the hardest-working Americans to ensure accurate tax returns with the guaranteed largest refund amount, and we’re looking for people to join our team as tax professionals,” CEO and President Greg Macfarlane said in a prepared statement. “Learning, helping and earning are just some of the benefits that come with joining the Jackson Hewitt team.”
