The first residents have moved into an income-restricted housing community in Howell, according to developer Walters.
The Barnegat-based developer said in a news release that the Cornerstone at Howell apartment community, which has four buildings under construction, will be completed by year-end. However, residents have begun moving into the five finished buildings at the development at 1000 Cornerstone Drive.
“We are so pleased to see families move into their new sustainable homes,” Joe Del Duca, partner and director of affordable housing, said in a prepared statement. “Cornerstone at Howell is important to the community, and is an example of Monmouth County benefiting from a successful public-private partnership.”
The complex is LEED Gold and Energy Star certified, Walters said. Apartments range from one to three bedrooms, and amenities include a clubhouse, picnic area and social services coordinator on staff.
Individuals and families who do not make more than 60% of the county’s median income are eligible to rent at Cornerstone at Howell, Walters said. Call 732-240-2787 for information.
