Cognizant acquiring industrial IoT company from N.C.

Teaneck-based professional services firm Cognizant announced Thursday that it has agreed to acquire Bright Wolf, a privately held technology services provider.

The deal for the Industrial Internet of Things solutions business will give Cognizant a new IoT innovation lab in the North Caroline Research Triangle area, it said in a news release.

Financial terms were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter, pending customary approvals and conditions.

“Combining Bright Wolf’s experience in production-class IIoT deployments within Cognizant’s expertise in foundational IIoT technologies will increase our clients’ resiliency, operational efficiency and competitive advantage,” Malcolm Frank, president, digital business, for Cognizant, said in a prepared statement. “Companies are increasingly embracing IIoT, and Bright Wolf’s team of senior IIoT architects have delivered the business value others have struggled to achieve. We look forward to this talented team joining Cognizant.”

Bright Wolf specializes in solutions including connecting industrial equipment, optimizing industrial operations and more. The company is based in Durham.
