Insurance brokerage World Insurance Associates LLC has acquired a South Carolina agency, adding to its network of 58 offices in 14 states and the District of Columbia, it announced this week.
The deal for the Walker Agency Inc. of Anderson, which does business as Palmetto Insurance, took effect Oct. 1. The Anderson-based agency is focused on property & casualty insurance, including auto, home and other policies.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
“Palmetto Insurance has a strong presence and stellar reputation in the Southeast,” WIA co-founder and CEO Rich Eknoian said in a prepared statement. “WIA is excited to work alongside the Palmetto Insurance team and help them achieve their full growth potential.”
Giordano, Halleran & Ciesla was legal counsel to WIA, while MarshBerry advised it on the transaction. Basi, Basi & Associates provided legal counsel to Palmetto, while Agency Brokerage Consultants advised.
