Brandywine Living acquires two N.J. assisted living communities

Brandywine Living, a Mount Laurel-based owner and operator of senior living centers, has acquired two assisted living communities, it announced recently.

The acquisitions of Acorn Glen Assisted Living, at 775 Mount Lucas Road, Princeton, and Spring Meadows at Summit, at 41 Springfield Ave., Summit, give the company 20 communities in New Jersey and 31 overall in seven states.

Acorn Glen will be renamed Brandywine Living Serenade at Princeton, while Spring Meadows will be renamed Brandywine Living at Summit, the company said.

“We are honored and proud to welcome the residents, team members and family members of these communities to Brandywine Living,” Brandywine CEO and President Brenda J. Bacon said in a prepared statement. “More than ever, families want to be able to find the support and quality they need so that their loved ones can enjoy their best lives in an environment that provides both health care support and the joy of having friends and neighbors.”

Brandywine said it intends to upgrade both communities, giving them the companywide standard of “restaurant-style” dining, spacious suites, on-site licensed nurses and more. The company intends to maintain necessary COVID-19 protocols, it noted.

The properties were acquired in partnership with Welltower.
