Rider University and Brookdale Community College have signed a program-to-program transfer agreement that will facilitate the transfer of credits from Brookdale toward a bachelor’s at Rider. It also provides guaranteed admission for Brookdale students who earn an associate degree into five additional Rider programs.
The five new programs are popular music studies (general track), theater (with concentrations in both technical theater and acting), game and interactive media design, and computer science. With this new agreement, 35 programs at Brookdale are now guaranteed to transfer to Rider.
Brookdale officials hailed the agreement.
“Our partnership with Rider University continues to enhance our mission to provide high-quality and affordable educational pathways for our students,” Brookdale President David Stout said.
Sarah McElroy, the executive director of career and transfer pathways at Brookdale, said the agreement gives Brookdale students several advantages, including waiver of application fees, generous academic scholarships, guaranteed admission and individualized support throughout the transfer process.
Rider President Gregory Dell’Omo said his school is happy, too.
“We’re pleased to strengthen our relationship with Brookdale and extend partnerships that provide real benefits for students pursuing their education,” he said.
Brookdale maintains formal partnerships with over 35 other colleges and universities, as well as close ties and pathway partnerships with other institutions throughout New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Delaware.
