Esports Entertainment Group, which also focuses on esports entertainment and gaming, said in a news release it expects the deal to close before Jan. 8. EGL is a business-to-business-focused provider of events and tournaments for gamers.
“We are excited to finalize this acquisition and continue to expand EGL’s presence here in North America,” Esports Entertainment Group CEO Grant Johnson said in a prepared statement. “In addition to our announcements with the (Los Angeles) Kings, L.A. Galaxy and Philadelphia Union, we are in discussions with many additional sporting organizations that are interested in exploring the ways that they can engage their fanbases through esports.”
The latest deal continues Esports’ growth, as it announced the acquisitions of ggCircuit and Helix eSports LLC earlier this year.
