In a continuation of a five-year plan established in 2018 to broaden its reach, NJM Insurance Group announced Tuesday that it is expanding its coverage area to include Ohio.
It is the third state outside of New Jersey where NJM has begun offering coverage since the five-year plan began, joining Pennsylvania (2018) and Connecticut (2020). NJM began offering its personal lines of coverage (auto, home, renters) in Ohio this week.
NJM CEO Mitch Livingston said the company will remain true to its mission as it expands its coverage areas.
“NJM was founded over a century ago with one mission: to operate in the exclusive interests of its policyholders,” he said.
NJM, based in West Trenton, has been one of the largest and most tenured auto and homeowners insurers in the state. It’s one of the most honored, too.
NJM finished first in the nation in the J.D. Power 2020 Auto Claims Satisfaction Study and has routinely been recognized by other national and regional consumer rating organizations for providing outstanding customer service.
“We are excited to begin a new year by offering that same commitment and level of service to Ohio consumers, and are anxious to demonstrate the difference it makes,” Livingston said.
Tracy McManimon, NJM senior vice president and chief underwriting officer, said Ohio represents another new chapter for the company, which was founded in 1913.
“This is truly an exciting new chapter for NJM,” she said. “We look forward to making Ohio residents part of the NJM family of policyholders and demonstrating that it’s not just insurance, it’s NJM.”
NJM employs nearly 2,500 and operates in a mutual fashion for the exclusive benefit of its customers.
