Dux Paint acquired by Conn. Firm; will continue to operate from Lodi

Lodi-based Dux Paint and its sister companies, Hawthorne Coating and Hood Products, have been acquired by a Connecticut company, it announced this week.

StanChem Polymers’ wholly owned subsidiary, Albi Protective Coatings, has completed the acquisition of Dux, which offers a portfolio of industrial protective coating solutions, according to a news release.

Dux and its existing management team will continue to operate from its Lodi base, StanChem said.

“We are excited to partner with Albi Protective Coatings, given their deep expertise in the protective coatings sector and coating solutions for harsh environments,” Howard Goldstein, Dux’s former owner, and now a member of the Albi senior leadership team, said in a prepared statement. “Our combined product offering, and brand recognition, will enhance our abilities to serve our customers who rely on us for their most challenging applications, and to accelerate growth in key markets and applications.”

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
