Restaurant relocates to larger space at Clarus Maplewood development

A Maplewood restaurant is relocating to a larger space at a boutique mixed-use community next door in Maplewood, the developer announced recently.

JMF Properties said Restaurant Lorena’s, a French American restaurant that has been in Maplewood for 15 years, is moving to a 4,500-square-foot space at Clarus Maplewood. The new site, at 160 Maplewood Ave., is just steps from the restaurant’s previous location at 168 Maplewood Ave., where owners Humberto Campos and Lorena Campos had 1,400 square feet of space.

“We’ve always considered a move to a larger space, but, over the 15 years we have been here, nothing of this caliber ever became available until now,” Humberto Campos, who is also the chef, said in a prepared statement. “Clarus Maplewood is the perfect fit for us. It’s a beautiful building, barely 3 years old, and the proximity relative to our current location is super convenient.”

Restaurant Lorena’s joins a collection of street-level retail at Clarus Maplewood that includes Starbucks, BCB Bank and Abby Haliti Salon.

“We are thrilled to welcome Restaurant Lorena’s to Clarus Maplewood,” Joseph M. Forgione, founder and principal of JMF Properties, said in a statement. “Lorena’s is one of the businesses that make downtown Maplewood a special place.”
