PSEG’s Linde named board chair of Community Foundation of N.J.

Public Service Enterprise Group General Counsel Tamara Linde has been named the new chair of the board of trustees at the Community Foundation of New Jersey, the group announced Wednesday.

The Community Foundation of New Jersey creates and scales custom solutions for purpose-driven individuals, families and businesses. From creative projects that tackle critical societal or policy issues to scholarship funds, corporate philanthropy, legacy funds and donor-advised funds, CFNJ manages nearly every kind of giving vehicle and tailors solutions to meet critical needs.

President Hans Dekker said Linde is the perfect person for the role.

“Philanthropy in our communities has never been more critical, and Tammy and our board know it will take a focused, results-driven lens to ensure our fundholders’ dollars are delivering the greatest possible impact in these challenging times,” he said.

“Tammy has the ideal experience and knowledge to not only continue our board’s strong leadership, but also help the foundation serve as a catalyst for stronger, more resilient communities.”

With $600 million in assets, the Community Foundation grants tens of millions of dollars each year through its more than 1,100 funds. Last year, CFNJ granted more than $80 million to nonprofits in New Jersey and beyond. Linde said she is eager to get started during a time when giving has never been more important.

“The leadership and philanthropic acumen the Community Foundation of New Jersey has built over 40 years came into clear focus last year as it corralled record sums of giving in ways that delivered immediate, critical relief,” she said. “I look forward to working with the Community Foundation’s staff of philanthropic professionals and hundreds of engaged fundholders to deliver even more support to worthy causes and communities in 2021 and beyond.”

As PSEG’s chief legal officer, Linde has responsibility for all legal and regulatory functions of the company, as well as compliance and claims. Linde is a member of PSEG’s Executive Officer Group and has worked at PSEG for more than 30 years.

Linde also serves on the board of the PSEG Foundation, and she is a member of the General Counsel Steering Committee of the National Association of Corporate Directors and the Council for the American Arbitration Association. She is a past president of the Northeast Chapter of the Energy Bar Association and served as chair of the Energy Bar Association Electricity Regulation and Compliance Committee.

Linde succeeds Delta Dental CEO Dennis Wilson, who served as board chair since 2018.
