Kearny Bank adds former Amboy exec as chief accounting officer

Kearny Bank has named a new chief accounting officer, it announced this week.

Sean Byrnes, who had been senior accounting officer for Amboy Bank in Old Bridge, has joined the Fairfield-based bank to direct its corporate accounting, including taxes, reporting and other duties.

“At a company of our size, the chief accounting officer has a broad array of responsibilities,” Keith Suchodolski, executive vice president and chief financial officer, said in a prepared statement. “It’s a complex assignment at which I am confident Sean, based on his professional and educational backgrounds, will excel.”

Byrnes, who will be based at the bank’s Fairfield headquarters, holds an MBA and is both a Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst.
