Micronet Ltd. has earned a purchase order for 5,000 SmartCam units, valued at about $1.5 million, from a telematics service provider.
The order from the undisclosed North American company, follows a pilot trial and initial 1,000-unit order, according to Micronet parent MICT Inc., based in Montvale. It represents the largest order of the product since the video telematics device was introduced in August.
“This first and substantial follow-on order, so soon after the launch and pilot of the innovative SmartCam product, underlines its compelling attributes and the significant potential scope of market demand,” MICT CEO Darren Mercer said in a prepared statement. “Today’s important milestone also justifies the investment we have made in Micronet to date.”
