PowerFleet product chosen for PTG refrigerated trailers

Woodcliff Lake-based PowerFleet Inc., a provider of wireless solutions for the logistics sector, was chosen by Panhandle Transportation Group to monitor and remotely manage refrigerated trailers and cargo, it announced Wednesday.

PTG will use PowerFleet’s reefer solution, the LV-400, the company said in a news release, as it transitions from 3G networks to LTE. A successful pilot program paved the way for the new deal, which includes 525 units of the solution, enough to cover the entire PTG reefer fleet.

“Cold chain issues have taken center stage in the transportation industry as safety regulations become more stringent and traditional food supply chains have been disrupted due to the pandemic,” Mark Stanton, general manager of PowerFleet for Supply Chain, said in a prepared statement. “PowerFleet is excited to be chosen as PTG’s long-term partner, and we look forward to helping them vastly improve their handling of cold chain requirements and pain points.”

Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
