Consulting firm signs lease for new space in Princeton

An environmental and engineering consulting firm has signed a lease at an office campus in Princeton, according to real estate firm Larken Associates.

The Branchburg-based firm said in a news release that AKRF has signed for space at Montgomery Commons, at Route 206 and Applegate Road. Details of the lease were not disclosed.

“With the ongoing, albeit slower-than-expected reentry of workers to their workplaces, we are seeing a tremendous focus placed on design features and layouts that promote safety and well-being,” Rob Marek, executive vice president of Raider Realty, Larken’s in-house brokerage division, said in a prepared statement. “For many companies, campus-style offices like Montgomery Commons provide the ideal balance of location, safety and flexibility that they are seeking as they lease office space in these uncertain times.”

Montgomery Commons is a 59,000-square-foot, nine-building complex. The new space will allow AKRF, which moved from a Route 1 location, to expand more efficiently in the market, Larken said.

“After more than three decades in office buildings along Princeton’s Route 1 corridor, I thought traffic and rent were the price to pay to be in Princeton,” Jeffrey Entin, AKRF’s principal and senior vice president, said in a statement. “But we could not be happier with AKRF’s new Princeton office at Montgomery Commons. Our space is professional, quiet and convenient to downtown Princeton and our clients around the area.”

Entin said he hopes to welcome clients and employees to the new space in the coming months as the COVID-19 pandemic slows.
