United Airlines and health and wellness company XpresSpa Group Inc. have announced the opening of a second XpresCheck COVID-19 testing facility at Newark Liberty International Airport.
United, the largest carrier at Newark airport, and New York-based XpresSpa said the pop-up facility is located in the Terminal C baggage claim area, before passengers go through security. It will host four testing rooms and will be able to administer over 300 COVID-19 tests per day, including both the rapid molecular test and polymerase chain reaction test.
“Offering convenient and reliable testing solutions that help open borders, provide peace of mind and enable the safest possible journey is at the core of our commitment to customers and the communities worldwide we proudly serve,” Mike Erbeck, vice president of Newark airport for United, said in a prepared statement. “With the addition of this new XpresCheck location, United customers traveling through our Newark hub now have even greater access to testing options, helping travelers meet the entry requirements at their final destination.”
The two testing facilities will be able to administer a combined total of 800 tests per day, XpresSpa CEO Doug Satzman said.
