Rite Aid extends special vaccine appointments for teachers, child care workers

Rite Aid announced Thursday is has extended its priority COVID-19 vaccine scheduling period for teachers, school staff and child care providers to ensure these groups are vaccinated during March.

The Pennsylvania-based drugstore chain, which has a large presence in New Jersey, said in a news release that it is working in accordance with a directive from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, continuing its ongoing vaccine initiative.

Select COVID-19 vaccine appointments at Rite Aid will be available exclusively to qualifying educators, staff and licensed child care staff on Friday and Saturday, as well as March 26 and 27.

Those eligible include:

  • Pre-K through 12th grade educators and staff;
  • Child care workers;
  • Family child care providers;
  • Head Start & Early Head Start staff.

For otherwise eligible individuals, appointments remain available for scheduling on other days in March.
