Langan Engineering & Environmental Services has acquired a Texas engineering consultancy, it announced this week.
The Parsippany-based firm said in a news release that it has acquired Dallas-based Adams Consulting Engineers Inc., which also has offices in Austin and Tyler, Texas. The deal represents only the second acquisition in Langan’s 50-year history, it noted. Langan has operated a Texas office in Houston since 2015.
“Shortly after we opened in Houston, clients began putting Langan on projects in Dallas-Fort Worth and Austin,” CEO and President David T. Gockel said in a prepared statement. “Now, with the addition of Adams, we’ll have a substantial workforce in these major markets, with native Texans whose knowledge of the local markets is unsurpassed.
“Rob Adams and his leadership team have built an impressive business and culture that aligns extremely well with ours, and we are excited to have them join the Langan family.”
Adams, the head of the firm, will join Langan as a principal, with the rest of his team also joining the firm. Langan now has four offices and 70-plus employees in Texas, and more than 1,300 employees in 36 offices nationwide.
AEC Advisors and the law firm of Lawson & Weitzen advised Langan on the deal.
