Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer P.A., the Woodbridge-based law firm, said its chairman, Brian J. Molloy, has been named the firm’s general counsel.
In this role, Molloy will serve as key adviser concerning the law governing lawyers, governance, risk management and more. He will take over the role from Frank M. Ciuffani, who is of counsel at the firm, and will continue to provide mediation, arbitration and other services.
“Brian has led the firm faithfully and with distinction for over a decade, and we are fortunate to benefit from his continued guidance as our general counsel,” Lisa A. Gorab, president and managing director, said in a prepared statement. “We are equally thrilled that, as a highly sought-after mediator, Judge Ciuffani will expand his capacity to provide mediation and arbitration services as the demand for alternative dispute resolution continues to grow.”
Molloy, who served as president and general manager of the firm from 2008 to 2021, has been a shareholder since 1986. He focuses on defense of professional malpractice claims and other complex commercial litigation.
