Four retailers sign leases at under-development complex in Hillsborough

The first four retail tenants have signed leases for a mixed-use community in Hillsborough, according to developer Larken Associates.

Hillsborough Village, at 650 U.S. Highway 206, includes 191 luxury market-rate and affordable apartments and approximately 28,000 square feet of ground-level retail space, Branchburg-based Larken said.

The four retailers, which are expected to open in the fourth quarter, are:

  • JAG-One Physical Therapy, 2,409 square feet;
  • Tropical Smoothie Café, 1,494 square feet;
  • Star Glow Salon, 1,315 square feet;
  • Village Barber Shop, 1,224 square feet.

The complex will include nine multifamily buildings, three mixed-use buildings and a clubhouse, Larken said.

“Through our Hillsborough Village Center project, we are confident that we area providing a rare opportunity for businesses and residents to experience what makes Hillsborough such a special place to live, work and play,” Victor Kelly, executive vice president of Raider Realty, Larken’s in-house brokerage division, said in a prepared statement.

Kelly oversaw three of the four transactions. He worked with Daniel Reider of Newark, who represented JAG-One and Gary Krauss of Pierson Commercial Real Estate, who represented Tropical Smoothie Café. He also helped Star Glow Salon relocate from another Larken property in Hillsborough.

Rob Marek, executive vice president with Raider Realty, represented Larken in the Village Barber Shop transaction.
