Best Employers for Diversity: J&J, Unilever, PSEG make Top 100 in U.S.

N.J. places 22 on Forbes’ list of 500 companies

Johnson & Johnson, Unilever and PSEG all made the Top 100 of Forbes’ list of America’s Best Employers for Diversity in 2021.

Johnson & Johnson, based in New Brunswick, came in at No. 44. Unilever in Englewood Cliffs was No. 54. PSEG, based in Newark, was No. 89.

Forbes ranked 500 companies for the fourth annual version of the list.

New Jersey had 22 on the overall list, but only seven in the Top 250, including No. 188 TD Bank (Cherry Hill); No. 222 ADP (Roseland); No. 235 ETS (Princeton); and No. 247 Prudential Financial (Newark).

JLL, which has a large presence in New Jersey but is headquartered in Chicago, was No. 1 on the overall list. (The Top 10 is at the bottom of this story.)

Forbes partnered with market research company Statista to survey 50,000 Americans working for businesses with at least 1,000 employees and pinpoint the companies they identified as being most dedicated to diversity, equity and inclusion.

The final list ranks the 500 employers that not only received the most recommendations, but also boast the most diverse boards and executive ranks, as well as the most proactive diversity and inclusion initiatives.

A number of companies on the list have a strong presence in New Jersey. For instance, Bank of America is ranked No. 94 and based in Charlotte, North Carolina.
