Plumbing supply company moving from Edison to new Piscataway industrial center

A new, 300,000-square-foot industrial center in Piscataway has secured a full-project tenant, according to the owner, Transwestern Development Co.

The Piscataway Logistics Center, which includes two buildings at 330 S. Randolphville Road, has been leased by General Plumbing Supply Inc. as its new headquarters, TDC said in a news release.

The long-term lease commitment with the 100-year-old distributor of plumbing, HVAC and other supplies was secured about five months prior to the project’s completion — slated for fall. The project was developed by TDC and a partner, QuadReal Property Group. It includes a new 151,748-square-foot Class A warehouse and renovated 146,000-square-foot warehouse.

“We are very proud that GPS has chosen Piscataway Logistics Center for its new headquarters, showroom and distribution center,” Brian Banaszynski, regional partner with TDC’s Logistics Group, said in a prepared statement. “Broad interest in this project underscores the strength and significance of New Jersey’s industrial real estate market, and we are confident that this state-of-the-art facility will provide the efficiencies and flexibility GPS was searching for in well-located, modern distribution space.”

GPS is currently headquartered in Edison, with 18 other locations in New Jersey and Staten Island.

Avison Young’s team of Tim Cadigan, Matthew Turse and Grant Otto represented ownership in both the acquisition and leasing of the property, while the tenant was represented by Avison Young’s Ed English and Ron Ganter and the Blau & Berg Co.’s Michael Schipper.
