Sectigo, the Roseland-based provider of digital identity solutions, has acquired cybersecurity protection firm SiteLock, it announced Tuesday.
The deal for SiteLock, which also includes content management system provider Patchman, will help Sectigo expand its product capabilities, partner network and reach. SiteLock currently protects more than 16 million websites, Sectigo said.
“SiteLock is a widely recognized and trusted brand for website security among customers and partners globally,” Michael Fowler, Sectigo’s president of partners and channel, said in a prepared statement. “Businesses are facing more frequent and sophisticated web-based attacks, often overwhelming website owners and crippling their business. By combining SiteLock and Sectigo products’ strengths, we are providing an unmatched, automated website security solution backed by two of the largest brands and experts in the market.”
Sectigo will now have more than 450 employees worldwide, it noted. The SiteLock brand will remain in place as a separate business unit within Sectigo, called “SiteLock: A Sectigo company.”
