Apprentice.io staying in Jersey City long-term, with new HQ lease

Apprentice.io is staying in Jersey City, signing a long-term lease for a new headquarters in the city, according to real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield.

The intelligent life science manufacturing technology company signed a 10-year agreement for 32,000 square feet at 101 Hudson St., where it will occupy the 38th floor of the tower.

“We … are thrilled to move our rapidly growing team into Apprentice’s new home in Jersey City,” co-founder and CEO Angelo Stracquantanio said in a prepared statement. “We truly believe in the potential of Jersey City and know it’s a great base to both serve our customers, the leading life science companies, and bring together our diverse team of local and remote employees.

“The space is designed to meet our needs as we continue to achieve our ambitious goals for growth.”

C&W’s David DeMatteis and Mina Shehata, working with Jeff Kaplowitz of Liberty Realty, represented the tenant in the deal.

“Working on such a relevant project like this during the pandemic was extremely rewarding,” DeMatteis said in a statement. “The team at Apprentice is rapidly growing, and this inspiring workplace will provide a home for the next chapter of their growth. This is a home-grown Jersey City company that could have easily moved across the river. Their commitment to their roots in a time of such rapid growth is wonderful to see.”

Added Kaplowitz: “As a client of mine since the company’s inception in 2018, Apprentice grew from a small startup operation into a corporate leader that is not just producing great software, but software that is lifesaving and has a positive worldwide impact. This transaction is special for me, because Apprentice has its roots in Jersey City and has laid the foundation of what the business community will look like in the future — a center of  life sciences, robotics, artificial intelligence and virtual and augmented reality.”
