Hackensack Meridian Mountainside Medical Center is starting a new exercise program for people recovering from COVID-19, it announced this week.
The program is designed for those who have had COVID to improve strength, endurance and other physical health for everyday living, improving quality of life and promoting positive lifestyle changes, the hospital said in a news release.
The program will be medically supervised by Mountainside Cardiac Rehabilitation and includes two, one-hour sessions each week for four to eight weeks at the Mountainside Medical Center Cardiac Rehabilitation Fitness Center.
“COVID-19 can have long-lasting effects, particularly on the cardiopulmonary system,” Dr. Kevin McCoach, medical director of cardiac rehabilitation at Mountainside, said in a prepared statement. “Lifestyle modification and a guided exercise program can be beneficial to speeding the recovery process.”
The program costs $88 per month and is not covered by insurance, Mountainside said. For more information, or to see if you are eligible, call 973-429-6199 or email diane.depadova@mountainsidehosp.com.
