Catalogic Software sells business unit to IBM

Catalogic Software, a Woodcliff Lake-based provider of smart data protection solutions, has sold its Catalogic ECX copy data management business to IBM, it announced Monday.

Catalogic said the transaction will enable it to focus on its enterprise and cloud data protection and data security solutions.

Financial details were not disclosed.

“IBM Storage has been an important business partner for Catalogic,” Ken Barth, its CEO, said in a prepared statement. “We built a great team with a strong focus on supporting IBM Storage, and we wish that team continued success. I am excited about the future of Catalogic, with a stronger focus on building our (Software-as-a-Service) platform for protecting hybrid and cloud native environments.”
