The flagship office building at a mixed-use district on the former campus of Mercedes-Benz USA in Montvale has opened, according to developer the S. Hekemian Group.
The real estate firm said in a news release that it hosted a grand opening event for Workplace North Market, located at the under-development North Market district — the former North American headquarters for the German automaker, which decided to move to Atlanta in 2015.
The 52,000-square-foot office property is located at 200 Market St., and includes three floors and 40,500 square feet of office space, plus 11,500 square feet of ground-floor retail. The law firm Beattie Padovano LLC preleased 20,000 square feet at the site in early 2020.
“This marks an exciting day in the ongoing evolution of North Market,” Peter Hekemian, senior managing director of the S. Hekemian Group, said in a prepared statement. “Our Workplace building is truly something special and innovative in Bergen County — and anchors North Market’s modern, one-of-a-kind walkable urban setting in a suburban community. In it, we have established a place where businesses can thrive, surrounded by an eclectic neighborhood of eateries, experiences, shopping and lifestyle services.”
The complex includes office, retail, luxury apartment and hotel components, and incorporates the Farm, an adjacent retail project by the S. Hekemian Group.
