OwnBackup, the Englewood Cliffs-based cloud data security firm, has acquired a California company in order to extend its reach to India, it said Tuesday.
OwnBackup announced in a news release that it has added Nimmetry, which provides a platform for integration of Software-as-a-Service data. Financial terms were not disclosed.
“This acquisition accelerates OwnBackup’s multicloud strategy,” CEO Sam Gutmann said in a prepared statement. “The entrance into the Indian market and the access to the talented professionals that are now part of the OwnBackup family marks the continuance of a long-term commitment on OwnBackup’s part to providing industry-leading products and services to help our customers protect their mission-critical SaaS data.”
The deal represents the second recent acquisition for OwnBackup, following a deal for Tel Aviv, Israel-based data security company Merlinx. OwnBackup also recently secured a $167.5 million investment round.
