Manufacturing facility moving to N.C.; 150 jobs could be leaving, WARN notice says

A machined components company is moving its Somerset operations to North Carolina, with as many as 150 jobs leaving the state, according to a federal WARN notice.

Pacon Manufacturing Corp., which provides packaging solutions, said in the notice that 150 employees could lose their jobs by July 30, but noted they could be offered positions in North Carolina, with identical pay and benefits.

The company did not immediately return a request for comment.

WARN notices normally cover mass layoffs or facility closings as part of the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act of 1989.
