Dr. Samuel Suede, chief of cardiology at Englewood Health, and Dr. Danielle Haskins, the medical director of the Stroke Center at St. Barnabas Medical Center, were honored as Physicians of the Year by the American Heart Association at its recent New Jersey Heart Ball.
Dr. Trevor H. Atherley, director of cardiac telemetry at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center, was presented the Victor Parsonnet, MD Visionary Award.
Suede was honored as the Physician of the Year in Cardiology while Haskins was named the Physician of the Year in Neurology. The award is given to a physician, nominated by peers or patients, who has made a positive impact on their patients’ lives and is dedicated to fighting heart disease and/or stroke.
Atherley accepted the Visionary Award, named after his former colleague and mentor, Dr. Victor Parsonnet, the former director of surgery and surgical research at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center.
