Leasing begins at new Montclair rental community (SLIDESHOW)

Leasing has begun at a rental community in downtown Montclair, according to Ironstate Development Co.

Two South Willow, a six-story collection of 200 units on Bloomfield Avenue, also includes 38,000 square feet of street-level retail and arts space, as well as amenities including a roof deck with Manhattan skyline views.

The property is across the street from the Wellmont Theater, and an outdoor pedestrian plaza will open to the public this summer.

Rents start at $1,760 for the apartments, which include studio through two-bedroom floor plans.

“After years of developing properties throughout the tri-state area, we were thrilled to be able to build in such a vibrant community like Montclair,” David Barry, CEO of Hoboken-based Ironstate, said in a prepared statement. “The dynamic, local culture heavily influenced the design of the building and development of the new Wellmont Arts Plaza to create a new destination for Montclair residents.”

The property was designed by Marchetto Higgins Stieve and Minno Wasko, with interiors by Kara Mann Design.
