Stockton University’s Atlantic City campus is being honored for its excellence in innovation.
Last week, the American Association of State Colleges and Universities announced Stockton would be receiving an Excellence and Innovation Award for Regional and Economic Development.
The “Stockton University, Atlantic City Campus: Anchor Institute in Action” program was selected by the AASCU for its outstanding results and potential to influence and serve as a model for other institutions.
The purpose of these awards is to recognize and honor AASCU institutions demonstrating excellence and innovation in their approach to address international education, leadership development and diversity, regional and economic development, student success, sustainability and teacher education on their campuses, the organization said.
The AASCU said the awards provide a means to collect and disseminate information about successful, replicable programs and practices and to support campus efforts to improve their institutions.
Stockton will be honored Nov. 7 at the AASCU annual meeting.
Gov. Phil Murphy gave praise over the weekend on Twitter.
“We’re committed to diversifying Atlantic City’s economy, and Stockton is a critical partner in driving that mission forward,” he tweeted.
