14 N.J. executives earn prestigious EY Entrepreneur of the Year award

Fourteen New Jersey executives were given the EY Entrepreneur of the Year New Jersey Award this week.

The EY Entrepreneur of the Year is one of the preeminent competitive business awards for entrepreneurs and leaders of high-growth companies in the state. This year’s winners, honored during a virtual ceremony, were among 33 finalists.

Nominees were evaluated based on six criteria:

  • Entrepreneurial leadership;
  • Talent management;
  • Degree of difficulty;
  • Financial performance;
  • Societal impact and building a values-based company;
  • Originality, innovation and future plans.

EY officials say the award honors and celebrates business leaders who test the limits of the possible and find ways to catapult their companies from now to next and beyond. It is the 35th year of the program.

Program Director A.J. Jordan said the 2021 program was especially significant due to the global pandemic.

“Despite the unprecedented challenges of the past year, these heroic leaders have inspired us all with their unrivaled courage, ambition and unwavering commitment to their companies, clients and communities,” he said.

Regional award winners are eligible for consideration for the Entrepreneur of the Year National Awards, to be announced in November at the Strategic Growth Forum, one of the nation’s most prestigious gatherings of high-growth, market-leading companies.

The Entrepreneur of the Year National Overall Award winner will then move on to compete for the EY World Entrepreneur of the Year Award in June 2022.
